Halloween and voting

Well there you have it. I was a gangster for Halloween. Almost all of the clothing I am wearing belongs to Nathan haha. And yes I did purchase that hat from the amazing clothing store that is Gen-X. I felt so cool going in there you don't even know! Oh and my bling is totally a tin can lid covered in foil, because you know, I'm crafty like that :)

Well Halloween was this last weekend woohoo! And last week during FHE we carved pumpkins to get ready for it. Jenn, Andy, and I clearly were feeling school spirited and made this amazing Y pumpkin. The only downfall was that pumpkin's shell was almost 4 inches thick! It was a very labor intensive carve but we succeeded and obviously we all need to go into sculpting or something of that nature.

Halloween would not be the same without a ward party and then a dance party! Last friday our ward got together and had a chili cook-off, scavenger hunt, games, and of course a costume contest! Julie, my roommate, and her boyfriend WON! They were Barbie and Ken, complete with an attached ipod that played the song "Barbie Girl." It was amazing! Also yesterday I got to vote in my first ever presidential election. And on the plus side I didn't even have to wait in line or anything. So all in all the whole process took me 15 minutes; from signing my name to get in, to receiving my I VOTED sticker as I left. Although now I am a little bit scared of where our country is headed. I'll be honest I didn't really want either of the candidates but I decided to go with the lesser of 2 evils. And in other voting news, does anyone know if proposition 8 passed in California, or do we not know yet?

And my life as of now consists of: studying, testing, reading, eating, sleeping, dating, smiling, laughing, and partying with the roommates. Life is GREAT! I love you all!

Come what may and LOVE IT!

Oh my goodness! This week was quite eventful. Starting the week with General Conference really helped a lot. I know you are not supposed to pick favorite apostles but Elder Wirthlin is the man! If I could be as happy and as positive as he is I would be set. I especially liked when he said "Come what may, and love it!" Because sometimes that is so hard when you really are going through a hard or stressful situation. But this statement has become my new goal. No one likes to be around people who find things to complain about or who are downers in general; it can bring you down with them.

So this last week I put it into play. And it proved to be a lot more difficult than expected. Especially when I ended up having 2 tests back to back and then having to wake up super early to study or do assignments. But all in all I think I did pretty good. I was extremely aware of what I was saying and so careful not to be pessimistic no matter how hectic a day it was. You can always find positive things no matter the situation. Anyways.... that was this week now into the weekend :)

I was a dating fiend!! That might be overexagerrating a little bit but this last week I went on 3 dates, I think. And they were all really fun! Yay for fun cute boys haha. On tuesday I went over to Byron's house and he made me fried rice for dinner and then we watched a movie. Doesn't sound like much but we are both huge dorks and kinda crazy so it turned out to be an adventure.

Then on Friday Byron and I went up to Salt Lake to a mentally disabled school called South Valley. They were having their Halloween dance and it was really the most fun I had all week! We didn't even dance with each other, we just danced with the kids... I say kids but they were all 18-25 years old. They are the most happy people and the most fun to dance with. I got hit on quite a few times, asked to be multiple guys' girlfriend, and one boy yelled to me as I was dancing "You are HOT, H-O-T!" Biggest confidence booster EVER! haha. They really were the sweetest people. And one more direct quote, as we were leaving the dance, Jared, one of the students, told me to call him if I ever need a good boyfriend...I might take him up on it :)

Saturday of course was BYU Homecoming. My roommates and I went to the parade early in the morning to see some of the people in our ward who were in the parade. It was so cold and started to snow, that's why we are all majorly bundled up in the picture. We got free chocolate chip blue pancakes with whipcream and syrup plus we got to see all the performing groups go by. Of course I went to the game against New Mexico, of course we won, but it was a dissapointing win, our team was not in sync at all the first half but we kind of pulled it together the second half. We will definately go down in the poles tho, i think. Then Saturday night I went on a date with a boy named Ryan from my Anatomy class. We went to Los Hermanos and then carved pumpkins. Which are currently sitting on my front steps, they look awesome in case you were wondering. But all in all it was a really good week. So Come what may and LOVE IT!

I am officially 20

Alright so here goes another weekly blog. Look at this, so far I am doing good at keeping this updated...then again this is only the 2nd week.

First of all I know you are all so jealous because I got to go to the BYU SHUTOUTS! It was amazing. Everyone was going crazy and it was awesome to see us do that well! Ucla vs. Byu 59-0 and Wyoming vs. Byu 44-0.

Secondly this last week in school I passed my Anatomy quiz! I learned all the bones in the head, mandible (jaw), and rib cage, a total of about 90-100 bones WOOHOO! Now I am on to memorizing the rest of the bones in the body. This week it is around 120 terms so wish me luck. Also this week I have 2 test one in physiology and one in Human Development; I will let you know how that goes...hopefully I will pass. And I start work on cadavers this week in lab! So that should definately be exciting, the joys of the human body.

Thirdly I turned 20. I have surpassed the realms of a teenager and entered the age of an adult. I know I was technically an adult at 18 but let's be honest I was definately not an adult haha. I went to tucanos on friday with the fam and ate delicious food including Kristin's favorite, their mashed potatoes. Then Saturday was the "Day of Kelli" Yes that is right I dedicated a whole day to me. I went to the Wyoming BYU football game, went laser tagging, and watched the movie HotRod at my apartment with all my friends. Basically a fantastic day! And today I actually turned 20 and got to go home and have birthday cake and a yummy home cooked meal. All in all a GREAT week!

Here are some pictures of my recent escapades...

Camille, Haley, and I about to go disco skating!
Me and Julie ( one of my roommates) before the UCLA game. She is 6 feet tall!
Me and Ashlee on my birthday when she came to give me my present. My hair looks outrageously blonde in this picture. I promise I haven't dyed it.

OH MY!

Dirk said something to me about writing in my blog so I am going to try and keep it up this year so that all of you can read about my super exciting life (just kidding) But really I will try to keep it updated this year, just keep reminding me.

So this last week Mom and I flew to LA to try out for Tokyo Disney. I know that you called me to ask about it and I tried calling you back but you both never answered so..... here goes. I tried out in a big studio with about 150 other dancers there. I was a little intimidated at first but decided that I was just going to have fun! So that's what I did.

I was number 72, and after I got my number we all went into a studio room and watched a video with clips of the shows that they put on for Tokyo Disney to get a feel of what they expected. They then told us that they were looking for people with the right look? The right LOOK? What does that mean right? Anyways then we learned a ballet combination and practiced and they made cuts after we performed it in groups of 4. There were only 20 people that they kept...and 2 people that I watched and thought were AMAZING didn't even make it. They once again told us that they were looking for people that had the right "look" for what they were casting for. I guess I didn't look the part because I was cut.

I prayed a lot before going in and auditioning. I prayed that if it was good and right that I would be able to have this opportunity to dance in Tokyo. Since I didn't get picked I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Although it still is a little sad to not get picked. But I have thought of all the positives that will happen to me by staying. I get to keep going to school, I get to be with my friends and family, and I get to go on the family vacation next summer. (If you think of anymore positive things let me know!) So I am ok. Do not worry. It just made me realize that I love dancing! and I have decided I need to take classes while I am here at BYU so that I will be able to have that in my life still. So there you have it.

Also this week I had my first Anatomy lab.... which I think is going to be really cool even though I have to memorize 100 terms a week. It is really interesting to me so hopefully that will help out. I am currently memorizing the bones in the skull, jaw, and sternum/ribcage area...SUPER FUN! And we start working on cadavers in 2 weeks!

Also tomorrow will be a jam packed day of fun! First BYU vs. UCLA in football, then I am going on a hot date (mom was really excited for me haha), he is 6'1'', with red hair, dances on the ballroom team, and is really fun to hang out with, so hopefully the date will be fun. After that me and a bunch of my friends are going disco skating! ( I will post pictures ) Well so far that is my life.
Remind me to keep this updated! I love you all so so much!
